Kentucky bourbon is more than a drink — it’s a way of life. Bluegrass State visitors and residents can’t help but fall for the time-honored traditions of this spirit.
Celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2024, the Kentucky Bourbon Trail® lets bourbon lovers in on the action. Forget tours and tastings — on the Trail, you can blend your own whiskey, learn different flavor profiles, create bourbon recipes, and even bottle, cork and label your own spirit.
Visitors sticking close to the Kentucky border along the Ohio River can follow The B-Line®, featuring 25 Northern Kentucky distilleries, bourbon bars and restaurants serving dishes with a hint of bourbon (think bourbon-maple syrup for your waffles and coq au vin brined all day in bourbon — now that’s Kentucky style).
Even visitors to Bourbon Country who are on the fence about the drink can find experiences to enjoy. Outdoor activities include biking the rolling hills of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail®, hitting the links of golf courses near its distilleries or checking out natural wonders along the Trail, like Mammoth Cave or Cumberland Falls.
Events celebrating America’s native spirit range from concerts on distillery lawns to the weekend-long Kentucky Bourbon Festival, held each September — aka National Bourbon Heritage Month — and the Bourbon Trail™ Relay, which takes runners 200 miles from Bardstown to Louisville.
Discover (and taste) the true spirit of Kentucky!
