African American Heritage Trail Nominations

Preserve history. Amplify stories. Inspire visitors.

The Kentucky African American Heritage Trail honors the people, places and stories that have shaped our state’s Black history from unsung heroes to enduring landmarks of culture, resilience, and community. But we know there are still voices waiting to be heard and sites waiting to be seen.

That’s where you come in.

If you know of a site with deep African American significance or that hosts important stories, that has the potential to welcome visitors and enrich public understanding, we invite you to submit it for consideration.

Help shape the Trail by recommending historic places that tell these powerful stories and have tourism potential. Your nomination can both help preserve history and invite new generations to learn and explore.
